The 'L' family began from our foundation mare, Coed Coch Lili

Nerwyn Leah [1986 - 2002]

Nerwyn Leah was most successful as a brood mare for us. She bred mainly to our two stallions Nerwyn Tywysog and Verdrefawr Daniel. When mated to Tywysog she produced Nerwyn Gwyrthiol, Nerwyn Lieta, Nerwyn Llewelyn (exported to South Africa) and Nerwyn Lawnslot. Mated to Daniel she produced Nerwyn Leila, Nerwyn Lorna, Nerwyn Lisa and Nerwyn Lorena.

Leah was shown very successfully as a youngster, winning many Championships as a foal, yearling and two and three year old. As a yearling, she was second in her class at the Royal Welsh out of 68 entries, and as a two year old was placed third. We did not show her much as a brood mare as she got fed up of showing and therefore we thought it best for her to breed instead.

Her early death was a great loss to us.

Nerwyn Linda [1990]

Linda was Lili's last foal, born in 1990. It was upon Linda's weaning that we were to lose Lili. We brought Lili out of retirement at the age of fifteen so that we could have a chance to show Linda as a foal, and she was very successful. Amongst her many wins was Supreme Champion at the Northern Counties Association Cheshire foal show.

Linda herself has then gone on to breed many winners as a brood mare.

Nerwyn Gwyrthiol [1991]

Gwyrthiol is Leah's first foal born in 1991, and thereby hangs a story.

She was shown with success as a youngster but has not been shown much as an adult.

Nerwyn Leila [1994]

Leila is by Verdrefawr Daniel and was shown with great success as a youngster, including Female Champion at the Shropshire and West Midlands Show. In 1999 she was shown at only four shows, being First and Reserve Female at the Royal Welsh and gaining one championship, two first prizes and a second at the others.

She is now making her mark as a broodmare, being the dam of Nerwyn Lowri, Nerwyn Letitia, Nerwyn Lilian, Nerwyn Lygon, Nerwyn Llabed and this year's filly foal, Nerwyn Lara.

Nerwyn Lowri [1998]

Shown once as a two year old, winning a Championship and the WPCS medal. Nerwyn Lowri is currently out on lease with Rod Lewis of the Cwm-meudwy Stud.

Nerwyn Lisa [2000-2007]

Nerwyn Lisa was a full sister to Nerwyn Leila, Nerwyn Lorna and Nerwyn Lorena.

Nerwyn Letitia [2001]

Nerwyn Letitia is a full sister to Nerwyn Lowri.

She was shown very successfully as a youngster. During 2002, her many winnings included 1st prizes at the Bath & West, East Anglian Natives; 2nd at the Three Counties and both Section A and Supreme Champion at Babell Medal Show. In 2003 she was equally as successful, winning 2nd prize at the Bath & West, 1st and Section A Champion at the Clwyd WPCA's Summer Show and Supreme Champion at the North Western Association's Spring Show.2007 Letitia comes out to be shown as a brood mare for the first time. Cheshire 2nd Junior Mare, North Wales Show 2nd broodmare, Royal Welsh Show 2nd junior mare class,Welsh National Show 1st broodmare and overall Section A Champion, 3rd Rhydspence Championships and finally Eglwysbach Show 1st broodmare class, overall Section A champion and Supreme Champion of the show.

Nerwyn Lorena [2002]

Nerwyn Lorena was Nerwyn Leah's last foal, before her death. Having spent some time out in the Netherlands with Janneke de Rade, this beautiful palomino mare has now returned to Dolwen.

Nerwyn Lilian [2003]

Nerwyn Lilian is a full sister to Nerwyn Lowri and Nerwyn Letitia and is currently on lease with Miss Catrin Williams of the Deucoch Stud.

Nerwyn Lorelei [2004]
