Nerwyn Cadno
[1979]

Cadno was the first foal we bred here at
Nerwyn. He was born in 1979 by Coed Coch Barrog and out of
Coed Coch Lili.
We decided upon this mating as both parents bring together all
the main female lines present at Coed Coch. It was definitely the right
decision to take as Cadno has been both an outstanding show stallion and sire
during his twenty-plus years with us.
Over the years Cadno won many
Championships too numerous to mention, I list just a few of his main wins which
include Male Champion and Reserve Supreme Section A at the Royal Welsh,
championships at Great Yorkshire, Leicester County, United Counties, Royal
Lancashire and Anglesey County.
He has sired some outstanding stock
for us, especially females. At the moment we have retained five of his
daughters and a son. He has also sired beautiful stock for other breeders, with
one of his daughters sold at the 2000 Fayre Oaks Sale for a price in excess of
£2,000.

Another outcross bought
from Gwyn Berry, Anrheg is producing top class foals including Nerwyn
Leonora who won the filly foal class at the 2007 Royal Welsh Show
and the Welsh National Show at Shrewsbury. His stock are much sought after,
his daughter Nerwyn Lois was exported to South Africa, his son Nerwyn Llachar to Holland.
